Brief Introduction
Since computer related systems have become essential in high technology industry, it is important to cultivate talents for this need and match the school development plan. Therefore, the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering was established in 2003, with four-year undergraduate programs. According to the fundamental requirements of Ministry of Education, our focus is to train students with a global view, to teach practical skills for both future careers and further research in computer related areas.
Features
The department strives to further the development of information theory and technology for applications in computer related industry.
- To cope with the growth in government programs, our focus is to develop and enhance image/signal processing technology and multimedia related applications.
- To satisfy the need of the job market, our focus is not only to establish internet/intranet and related network technologies but also enhance the ability of computer security.
- Develop fundamental technology of VLSI for applying to electricity design of FPGA, to have the ability to incorporate software and hardware technologies for the needs of the job market.
- We incorporate resources from both our departments and experiences from experts to develop embedded systems in many fields to benefit the needs of certain applications.
Course Description
In order to make students possess basic knowledge and research ability, the curriculum provides the following training courses for the information industry arranged as three major modules:
- Computer Network and related application Module: To train and culfivatethe ability to design network and applications, the courses primarily focus on computer network technology and relevant applications.
- Image and Video processing and application Module: To develop image and video processing technologies, digital content and incorporate multimedia related technologies and their applications.
- Embedded system implementation and development module: To provide training for embedded system and applications design.
Future Career Arrangement
- The Department is aiming at solid teaching and research for practical implementation. To keep up with contemporary trends of computer technology and provide students with the ability tepursue further research
- Students are required to pass the professional licences in certain fields to verify their professional skills.
- Students are required to finish a practical project to have creation and applicable ability. Students are encouraged to participate in all kinds of competitions on campus or outside the school to increase their interest and confidence.
- We provide many courses covering humanity, art, professional skills and physical education. Foreign language courses are provided to improve student's ability to digest knowledge from internet and all other kinds of publications.
Professional exercise features
- We focus on implementation and simulation
- We focus on theocratics and application
